FAYETTE COUNTY, Ky. (3/15/13) – Music for All has chosen six students from Fayette County Public Schools for its 2013 honor ensembles, which perform during a national festival in Indianapolis. Congratulations to Kim Dauen of Paul Laurence Dunbar High School in the Honor Band of America and to Lafayette High’s James Daniel Alford, Taylor Bagley, Aaron Burns, Nathan Rayens and Robert Wendroth, who were selected for the Honor Orchestra of America.
Students are picked by recorded audition after evaluation by leading music educators. Along with their concert performances, the teenagers participate in master classes, a motivational session and social events during the festival.
The honor orchestra will be in concert at 7 p.m. March 15 and 16 in Hilbert Circle Theatre alongside the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. The honor band will perform at 8 p.m. March 16 in Clowes Memorial Hall on the campus of Butler University.
