Warning – Merchants - Beware of Intuit Payment Solutions

credit card 300Kentucky  (12/27/13) ― Credit card users are not the only victims of credit card fraud.  Often merchants can also be hammered by the use of fraudulent cards.  

SurfKY News Group was the victim of payment fraud.  

As a victim, you expect the company that processes your credit card charges to be your advocate, your partner. After all, you're paying them for that service.
   
Our credit card processing company was the giant Intuit.  Intuit is one of the giant companies that truly acts like a giant company.  It lacks the compassion needed to help the little guy, who has a problem.  

Spending 30 to 40 minutes of your time on hold waiting for their help seems to mean nothing. Intuit does offer the option of giving you a call back ― an option that doesn't always work.

Connecting to your Quick Books software is one convenience of using Intuit; however, there are significant downsides when things don't go smoothly.  

Our experience with Intuit Merchant Services has been a nightmare.  SurfKY News was frauded by one of our customers for services performed.  When we were hit with several large chargebacks, Intuit refused to assist us or be an advocate for its customer.  

The bottom line is that Intuit not only refused to assist its customer, they held a credit card payment of more than $5,700 as security for themselves.  

This credit card payment was processed on Aug. 12, 2013; and, as of this date, Intuit has not paid for the charge.

Intuit's legal department said it can hold credit card payments for security for up to 270 days before disbursement to us.  

SurfKY News Group was left to file criminal complaints against our former customer. In my opinion, Intuit helped the criminals rather than its customer. Furthermore, supervisors will not call back and resolve the issue.

At SurfKY News, we feel compelled to warn merchants about the potential pitfalls of using Intuit Payment Solutions.
