HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. (3/18/13) – The Kentucky State Police (KSP) investigated a two-vehicle, non-injury collision that occurred on the Pennyrile Parkway at the 46 mile marker on Sunday, March 17, 2013, at 1:10 p.m.
According to KSP officials, the preliminary investigation revealed that Michael Easley, 58 of Crofton, KY, was operating a Nissan passenger car southbound on the Pennyrile Parkway. Easley was attempting to pass Bill Harkrader, 49 of Sumner, IL, who was also traveling southbound in a Dodge pickup truck pulling a camping trailer. Easley’s vehicle began to hydroplane, striking the guardrail on the west shoulder, then re-entered the roadway striking Harkrader’s vehicle. Harkrader’s vehicle entered the median causing the camping trailer to roll onto its side.
Everyone involved was wearing their seat belt and no injuries were reported.
