DUNMOR, Ky. (1/15/14) — Two people were life-flighted to Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, Tenn., after they crashed and overturned on Kentucky 973 near the former Lake Malone Inn.
According to a Muhlenberg County Sheriff's report, Muhlenberg Central Dispatch received a call Tuesday evening that a vehicle had overturned and caught on fire. Motorists were attempting to put the fire out by using water from a nearby stream, when Deputy Pat Putnam arrived and began using his fire extinguisher.
Constable Denny Blythe, who was on the scene, was able to pull Levahn Ferre from the vehicle. Then, emergency workers were able to extricate Raymond Ferre. The Ferres, both of Belton, were transported via Vanderbilt Life Flight to the hospital for treatment.
Deputy Terry Vick is investigating the accident. He was also assisted by other Muhlenberg County Sheriff's deputies, the Dunmor Fire Department and Muhlenberg County Emergency Medical Services.
