Muhlenberg Kidfest Planned With Larger Prizes

Muhlenberg Events Curtain 300POWDERLY, Ky. (4/7/14) — The Muhlenberg County Baptist Association will present Kidfest 2014, 2 to 4 p.m., Saturday, April 12 at the Muhlenberg Agriculture and Convention Center.

The event will offer fun for the whole family, including carnival games, food and door prizes.

According to Jerry Eades, director of missions for the Muhlenberg County Baptist Association. The inaugural event in 2013 was such a huge success, the association decided to organize another Kidfest this year.

"Last year we were trying to plan some events for the children throughout the county," Eades told SurfKY News. "We estimated we would have a turnout of around 300 last year. We ended up with a huge crowd of around 800 including adults. It was a tremendous success."

Eades said last year the Kidfest gave away a few smaller prizes, but the association decided to come up with some bigger giveaways this year.

"We had such a success last year, we wanted to have some larger giveaways this year," Eades said. "We will have two televisions. One is a 40-inch LCD and the other is a 32-inch LCD. We'll also have two Kindle Fire HD 7 tablets for prizes as well."

Admission is free, but adult supervision is required.
