Muhlenberg Events Curtain 300MUHLENBERG COUNTY, Ky. (6/3/14) — The Muhlenberg Arts Advisory Council and the Muhlenberg County Theatre, Inc. have an entertaining summer planned.

Tuesday, June 3, 6:30 p.m. at the Merle Travis Music Center, MAAC presents a showcase that features three shows in one.

The MAAC Showcase will feature performances by a local dulcimer ensemble, community singers and line dancers. Admission is free and there will also be information on upcoming arts events throughout the county, according to Melanie Smith.

"The Muhlenberg Arts Advisory Council is ready to begin our summer programming and planning for next school year," Smith said. "If anyone in the county has ideas of arts events that should develop in our county please let us know by emailing me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Smith noted that the summer arts camp is also on the way.

"Our children arts camp will be June 9 through 13 at the Felix E. Martin Jr. Hall," Smith said. "The theme this year is 'Creativity in Motion.' Although sign ups are over, if you have a student that has not signed up yet and wants to be a part of this camp please email me and we can fit them in."

There's also a "habit-forming musical comedy" coming to the Palace Theatre this month. The Off-Broadway hit will run June 20, 21 and 27, 7 p.m. and June 22, 28 and 29, 2 p.m.
