Two-Vehicle Accident Results in Felony Arrest

eberle arrestGREENVILLE, Ky. (6/10/14) ― A two-vehicle collision on Kentucky 189 in Muhlenberg County resulted in an arrest for drugs Monday, June 9.

According to a Kentucky State Police report, Julia Eberle, 24, Madisonville, was driving a 2006 Nissan Altima headed south on Kentucky 189 at about 3 p.m. as Blair Garrett, 21, Greenville was headed south in a 2007 Ford Fusion in front of Eberle's vehicle.

The report said as Eberle attempted to pass Garrett in the emergency lane, Eberle's vehicle struck Garrett's vehicle on the passenger side. Eberle's vehicle exited the right shoulder of the road and struck an earth embankment, crossed both lanes of travel and came to rest off the left shoulder of the road. Garrett was able to stop her vehicle in the emergency lane.

Eberle left the scene on foot and was located behind Roland Memorial Church. Trooper Craig Engler charged Eberle with driving under the influence, first offense; first-degree possession of a controlled substance/meth; third-degree possession of a controlled substance; possession of drug paraphernalia; tampering with physical evidence; and, execution of a warrant for another agency, according to the report.

She was lodged in the Muhlenberg Detention Center.

There were no injuries as a result of the collision, the report said.

The Greenville Police Department, Muhlenberg County Sheriff's Department, Greenville Fire Department and Muhlenberg County EMS assisted at the scene.
