Four units responded to an overturned 2000 Kenworth tractor and trailer driven by David Duncan at about 4:01 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18 at exit 45 on the Pennyrile Parkway. Upon arrival, the fire crews discovered the truck was hauling chicken parts which had spilled into the median and onto the southbound lane of the Pennyrile Parkway. Fire crews directed traffic north and south around the accident and a representative from the EPA assisted. Clean up crews arrived and set the trailer upright for removal. Debris was washed off Engine 17 and the truck was removed from the scene. Department of Transportation crews then took over at the scene.
