DUE TO HEAVY SNOWS IN WESTERN KENTUCKY...WIDESPREAD 6 TO 12 INCH SNOWFALL AMOUNTS HAVE HAULTED AREA TRAVEL. ISOLATED 15 INCH AMOUNTS HAVE BEEN REPORTED. DRIFTS UP TO A FOOT AND A HALF HAVE ALSO BEEN REPORTED. THIS IS A DANGEROUS STORM SITUATION AND TRAVEL SHOULD BE AVOIDED IF AT ALL POSSIBLE. (National Weather Service)
ky trans cab 300HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. (11/25/13) — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to close Kentucky 862 in HOPKINS County during daylight hours starting on Monday, Dec. 2.

This daytime closure on Kentucky 862 between mile point 2.834 at Kentucky 254 and mile point 4.928 at Kentucky 892 is to allow the repair of a slide along the right of way.

Kentucky 862 is expected to close at approximately 7 a.m. each day. It is expected to reopen to traffic at approximately 5 p.m. each day. The work is expected to take about one week to complete, weather permitting.
