lane restriction2 300OWENSBORO, Ky. (5/1/13) – A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans a traffic shift in the Audubon Parkway work zone at Owensboro on Friday, May 3.

Westbound traffic entering the Audubon Parkway from U.S. 60 at Owensboro will be moved to a crossover about one-fourth of a mile west of the Audubon Parkway/U.S. 60 Interchange, starting sometime between 8 and 9 a.m. on Friday. This will put two-lane traffic on a section of what would normally be the westbound lanes from about the 23 mile marker to mile point 14.5 about a mile west of the Green River Bridge where westbound traffic will use another median crossover to return to normal traffic flow on the westbound side.

All eastbound lanes on the Audubon Parkway remain closed for reconstruction from the Ky. Hwy. 1554 Exit 18 at Sorgho to the Audubon Parkway/US 60 Interchange at Owensboro. Due to rain delays, eastbound traffic on the Audubon will have to continue to take Exit 18 at Sorgho through about Monday, May 6.  There is a marked detour for eastbound traffic via KY 1554 at Audubon Parkway Exit 18.

This traffic shift and detour are part of a larger general rehab project along the Audubon from mile point 16.5 near the Green River Bridge at the Daviess-Henderson County Line to the Audubon Parkway/U.S. 60 Interchange in Owensboro.

Timely updates on traffic shifts and work zone configurations will be provided as the rehab work progresses in coming weeks.

Chester Bross Construction Company is the prime contractor on this $6.1 million highway improvement project. The estimated completion date for the rehab work is September 1.
