Water Safety Day

kid-swimmingOWENSBORO, Ky. (6/18/14) — The Owensboro Parks and Recreation City Pool lifeguards and Marlins Swim Team representatives and members are joining together to offer a Water Safety Day at Combest Pool Friday, June 20 from 9 - 11 a.m.

The Water Safety Day will include free swim lessons, water safety tips, free swim time, informational booths and giveaways.

The City and Marlins Swim Team feel it is very important for everyone to learn how to swim because ten people drown each day in the U.S. Drowning is also the 2nd leading cause of childhood accidental deaths for children under the age of 14.

Those that attend the event will have the opportunity of getting a $5 discount if they sign up for swim lessons at Combest or Cravens Pool.

For more information about our swim lessons and public swim times, please visit our website at www.owensboroparks.org or call (270) 687-8700.

We the City lifeguard staff and the Marlins Swim Team want to help make you a safe swimmer.
