united way 300HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. (6/4/13) – The United Way of the Coalfield announces the availability of grant funds totaling approximately $16,900. Youth and Human Service agencies serving Hopkins, Muhlenberg and Webster counties are eligible to make application to receive funding.  
 
The grant application deadline is July 10, 2013.  A committee of community volunteers from the areas served will review each application and make funding recommendations.  
 
The grant is made possible by the Heidi Badgett Fund.  The goal of the grant is to maximize community resources through collaboration among agencies that serve basic health and educational needs of children ages birth to 17 years old and their families.  
 
Funding priorities include grants that support projects where agencies collaborate to address the stated need, seed money for innovative projects with matching funds, funding for ongoing programs that have matching funds, and capital campaigns with match funding if maintenance plan for the project is shown.
