Henderson Spottsville Elementary 300HENDERSON (10/17/13) — Spottsville Elementary School will host its Fifth Annual Family Writing Night from 5:30 to 7 p.m., Monday, Oct. 21 at the school. The theme will be “Superheroes.”

Family Writing Night provides an opportunity for parents/guardians to learn about fun educational writing activities. Students are invited to dress as their favorite superhero as they participate in writing activities that include Mad Libs, creating their own superhero and collaborating with their family to write a story revolving around their character. These stories will be judged on their creativity and prizes will be awarded. In addition to the writing activities, families can enjoy a free Hero sandwich, fruit and chips. A book fair will be open in the media center and parents are encouraged to shop with their children to select new books to add to their home library.
