LEXINGTON, Ky. (12/30/13) – UK Junior Brian Goss netted a career-high 23 points Sunday, leading the Cats to a victory over the Grambling State, 109-46.
Fresh off their first loss of the season against No. 2 Duke, the Cats (12-1) came back strong, taking the lead at the start of the game and never losing it.
Goss led the scoring for the Cats, with Linnae Harper right behind with 15 points and seven rebounds. Janee Thompson scored 13 points and one rebound. The Cats scored 47.5 percent of their field goal attempts, 23.8 percent from beyond the three point line, and 70 percent from the charity stripe.
Grambling State's Joanna Miller led her team's scoring with 14 points, followed by Jasmine Godbolt with 10 points.
Kentucky set a season high for most points scored in the first half with a 60-19 lead. This is the fifth time this season they've broke the 100 point margin. They'll now focus their attention to their next road game at Alabama. Tip-off is set for Thursday at 3 p.m.
