Miners Topple Hoppers 3-5

MADISONVILLE, Ky. (6/30/14) — The Madisonville Miners defeated the Hopkinsville Hoppers 3-5 Monday night.

After taking an early 0-1 lead in the bottom of the second inning, the Miners fell behind when the Hoppers scored two runs in the top of the fifth.

In the sixth, a homerun by the Hoppers in the top put the score at 3-1 Hoppers before the Miners tied it up 3-3 at the bottom of the inning.

One run each by the Miners in the seventh and eighth innings brought the final score to 3-5 Miners.
