floodadvisory1 300KENTUCKY (6/24/13) – The National Weather service has issued a flood advisory for several local areas throughout the Western Kentucky region.

Among those included in this advisory are Muhlenberg, Hopkins, Daviess, Henderson, McLean, and Webster.

At around 11:00, radar indicated that numerous strong storms were producing torrential rainfall. Around two inches has already been received and another two inches are possible before the storms roll eastward this afternoon.

Urban drainage systems may be overwhelmed by the torrential rain and some creeks and small streams may begin to flood.

SurfKY News urges local citizens to drive careful if you must travel in these conditions. If you come upon standing water over the roadway, always assume that it is too deep to cross.

This storm front should pass over the area this afternoon.
