Friends, Family Raising Funds for PJ Phelps' Funeral Expenses

phelps car washMADISONVILLE, Ky. (5/13/14) — Family and friends of the late Phillip "PJ" Phelps are raising money with a car wash today in the Applebee's parking lot at the corner of Chelsea Drive and Island Ford Road.

The group was organized by PJ's sister, Natasha Phelps, to help raise funds to pay for the unexpected funeral expenses.

PJ Phelps died last week, and two men have been charged with murder in connection with his death. There is also a memorial fund set up at any Independence Bank location under the name of PJ's father, Phillip Phelps.

The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home in Madisonville. For the full obituary, click here. (SurfKY News Photo/Shawn Freels)
