Gov. Beshear Orders Flags to Half-Staff for American Soldier

FRANKFORT, Ky. (8/22/13) – Gov. Steve Beshear has directed that flags at all state office buildings be lowered to half-staff on Friday, Aug. 23, 2013 in honor of a Fort Campbell soldier who died while supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
 
According to the Department of Defense, Spc. Keith E. Grace Jr., 26, of Baytown, Texas, died on Aug. 11 in Paktia Province, Afghanistan of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his unit with indirect fire. He was assigned to the 4th Battalion, 320th Field Artillery Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, Fort Campbell, Ky.
 
Funeral services for Spc. Grace Jr. will be held on Aug. 23 at 10 a.m. Central time at First Baptist Church in Baytown, Texas. Interment will follow at 11:30 a.m. Central time at Houston National Veterans Cemetery in Houston, Texas. Gov. Beshear encourages individuals, businesses, organizations and government agencies to join in this tribute.
