MCC Announces Fall and Summer Registration Information

mcc 01 300HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. (3/14/13) – Fall and summer registration for readmit, transfer, high school, and non-degree seeking students is underway. New students are required to attend a First Semester Experience session prior to enrolling in fall 2013 courses, but may register for summer classes. Students should contact the Advising and Transfer Center at (270) 824-8621 for more information.

MCC’s summer schedule features expanded online course offerings, including general education classes like biology, communications, and English. “Students taking our local online classes get the best of both worlds,” according to Deborah Cox, MCC’s Chief Academic Officer. “Students get the convenience of online learning with faculty available to meet with them locally if they have questions”.

A variety of general education, technical, and allied health classes are available for students. Jay Parrent, MCC’s Dean of Student Affairs, notes that “We encourage students to apply for both admission and financial aid early in order to beat deadlines and to take advantage of our early registration opportunities.” The priority deadline for fall 2013 financial aid awards is July 1, 2013. Students applying or completing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) after this date will encounter significant delays in processing.

Printed class schedules are no longer available; class information is available online at www.madisonville.kctcs.edu/schedule. This website includes detailed information regarding registration and admission requirements, the MCC academic calendar, tuition, books, and more. In addition, persons may filter the class schedule to view only the classes they are interested in taking and print the information if desired.

Summer classes begin May 14th (intersession) and June 10th (summer session); fall classes begin August 19th. For more information, please contact the MCC office of admissions at (270) 821-2250 or online at www.madisonville.kctcs.edu.
