Ribbon Cutting for Third Floor Renovations at Baptist Health

MADISONVILLE, Ky. (3/20/13) – On Monday night, Baptist Health held a Ribbon Cutting for the third floor renovations. After Five months of long hard work, and finishing days before scheduled time, the doors will be opening on Monday March 25.

The new floor renovations were a team work effort, physicians and nurses worked together with input that helped with the design and flow. The new floor is environmentally safe. In the registration area the room is divided into two sides. One side is for kids and the other for adults. An extra elevator was put in to help with patient flow. All exam rooms are setup the same and with plenty of privacy. When walking into rooms, once motion is detected, the lights come on and shut off after a period of time of non-movement.

The general surgery doors were widened for those who have wheelchairs or crutches. The procedure area allows the doctor to do minimal invasive procedures in the office instead of going into surgery. The procedure rooms are also off to the side with extra privacy for patients and a sub-waiting room for those who are not completely ready to leave.

Over the next week, the hearing booths will be moved over from the clinic. There will be a Hearing Aid Retail Display located between the elevators and registration desk. The hearing aids will all be digital and wireless and have the ability to connect to one’s phone and television.

Now called Café 900, the cafeteria located in the lobby area also had some changes. The floors were redone, fresh paint to the walls, new dining tables and chairs along with new light fixtures. The artwork on the walls was done by an Owensboro artist whose family is from Madisonville. She took the old paintings and flipped them over and used the back to make her artwork. There is a new chef and nutritionist on board to help prepare and execute healthier meals that will be served.

In the weeks to come, Baptist Health will be making more changes. These changes will better suit the needs for current and future patients.
