There will be no school in Hopkins County on Wednesday, March 4. The National Weather Service is calling for a major winter storm tomorrow with significant accumulations of snow and sleet expected.

investigation 300GREENVILLE, Ky. (7/11/13) – At approximately 4:20 PM, Greenville Police Department (GPD) responded to a 911 call at a residence on Twin Hills Drive.

Upon arrival, Officers made contact with a male subject holding a rifle. At that time, the male immediately barricaded himself inside a garage. Officers made multiple attempts to communicate with the male, and never received any response. After several contact attempts, officers made their way into the garage. The male subject was found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, deceased.

The body of the subject was transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy.

This incident is currently under investigation by GPD.

GPD Officers were assisted at the scene by the Muhlenberg County Sheriff's Office, Central City PD, Powderly PD, Kentucky State Police, Muhlenberg EMS, and Greenville Fire Department also assisted at the scene.

The name of the deceased has not been released at this time.
