CENTRAL CITY, Ky. (5/1/14) — A Rockport man was charged with DUI in Muhlenberg County after Kentucky State Police investigated a single-vehicle, injury collision.
According to a KSP report, Michael Stogner was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Impala headed east at 11:45 p.m. Wednesday, April 30 on U.S. 62, when his vehicle failed to negotiate a curve. Stogner's vehicle crossed the center line and exited the left side of the road and struck a tree.
Stogner was transported to Muhlenberg Community Hospital for treatment. He was then charged with speeding 26 mph or more, reckless driving, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol, third offense, driving on a DUI suspended license and failure of non-owner to maintain required insurance.
Stogner was wearing a seatbelt and there were no passengers involved.Trooper Jacob Fortney investigated the collision. The Central City Police Department, Central City Fire Department and Muhlenberg EMS assisted at the scene.
