(6/20/14) — A vehicle accident on Depot Street Friday, June 20 slowed traffic as utility trucks worked to repair damages after a driver lost control of his Dodge Ram pickup while rounding a curve on West Depot Street.

According to James Wilson, who witnessed the incident, the truck was driving at a high rate of speed and, “ran off the road, hitting the concrete culvert. Then the truck knocked over a mail box, ran up an embankment, struck a light pole breaking the pole and tearing the wheel off the truck."  Wilson was surprised the driver walked away from the accident without injury.

According to Greenville Police Officer Matt Adams, the driver, Jeremy Dukes, lost control of his vehicle while attempting to avoid hitting a dog.
