meth bust hop muhlGRAHAM, Ky. (9/4/14) ― Two Hopkins County people were arrested after police made a controlled buy of methamphetamine and then tried to stop the vehicle the seller was riding in near Graham. The driver led police on a chase that involved several police agencies.

According to a Muhlenberg County Sheriff’s Office press release, Detective Troy Gibson, who is assigned to the Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force, made a controlled buy of approximately 60 grams of suspected crystal meth from Dasha Nichole Bean, 22, Nebo at approximately 11 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3.

After the transaction was completed, the report said the officers tried to make a traffic stop near Graham on a 1999 Lexus that Bean was traveling in. The driver failed to yield leading Dep. Tommy Nance and Kentucky State Police Trooper Jon McGehee on a high speed pursuit into Hopkins County, where the car was finally stopped.

The driver, Jason Fryar, 20, Anton, was charged with first-degree fleeing and evading police, speeding 26 mph or over, reckless driving, disregarding stop sign, second-degree fleeing or evading police/on foot, first-degree wanton endangerment/police officer, driving on DUI suspended drivers license, failure to produce insurance card, first-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, possession of marijuana and a warrant for failure to appear. He is being lodged in the Hopkins County Jail.

Bean was charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance/meth and second-degree fleeing and evading.

Gibson was assisted by Sheriff’s Dep. Wade Griggs, Sheriff Curtis McGehee, Constable Denny Blythe, Kentucky State Police and the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office.
