Community Input Sessions Planned This Week

Owensboro Chamber of Commerce 300OWENSBORO, Ky. (7/11/13) – The Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce, in conjunction with the Economic Development Corporation, Daviess County Fiscal Court and City of Owensboro, will have two community input sessions this week. The first, at noon on Wednesday, July 17, will be at the Western Kentucky University – Owensboro campus, 4821 New Hartford Road. The second, at noon on Friday, July 19, will be at Audubon Area Community Services, 1700 West 5th Street.

 
Lunch will be provided to participants, who will have the opportunity to review the results of the community survey to identify possible projects to put on the Community Priorities List for transportation and capital expenditures.
 
“These open input sessions will allow any community member to join us and provide their feedback on how and why we should prioritize the projects that were submitted through the open survey process in the last 45 days,” said Amy Jackson, chamber President and CEO. “This list will help us go to Frankfort and Washington DC with a strong, concise and collaborative voice on what is important for the future of Owensboro.”
 
A third feedback session is scheduled on Aug. 1, directly following Rooster Booster at the Owensboro Christian Church. The feedback from the 60-minute input sessions will be used by the committee to finalize the projects in both categories, which will then be revealed at the September 5 Rooster Booster.
 
Founded in 1913, the Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce has worked for a century to provide valuable benefits and services to member business and individuals. Today, with a membership base of more than 900, the Chamber is a critical partner in community and business development initiatives, serving as the center of business advocacy for the Greater Owensboro region.
