oboro emerge 300OWENSBORO, Ky. (8/30/13) – The 2014 class of Emerge Owensboro has been selected after a record- number of applicants for the program. Twenty-six individuals from diverse market segments of the region have been selected to participate in the leadership development program, jointly sponsored by the Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce and the Economic Development Corporation.

“We were so excited about the pool of applicants we received for the program this year. While we hate to turn people away from the program, it is a great problem to have when you have more applicants than spots in the class,” said Amy Jackson, President and CEO of the chamber. “We plan for this program to continue for many years, so we hope those not selected this year will be back next year as applicants.”

The class will be introduced at Thursday’s Rooster Booster breakfast, and will begin the monthly class schedule on September 12. Class participants and their business affiliation for 2013-2014 include Audrey Lillpop – First Security Bank; Blake Hayden – Remax Professional Realty Group; Brian Newman – BB&T; Bryan Kuegel – Flat Lick Farms; Dr. Elizabeth Martin – RiverPark Eye Care; Dr. Marty Traylor – Owensboro Family Eye Care; Heather Montgomery – US Bank Home Mortgage; Jeff Johnson – Van Meter Insurance; Jeff Sorce – Owensboro Catholic Elementary School; Katie Vincent – Owensboro Community and Technical College; Kelsey Mann – EM Ford & Co; Kennan Fritz – Independence Bank; Krista Niehaus – 5/3 Bank; Lane Orton – Domtar; Malissa Troutman – American Red Cross; Matt Mason – Daviess County High School; Matt Schell – Century 21 Realtors; Paula Roberts – Owensboro Public Schools; Rob Leesman – Owensboro Municipal Utilities; Shannon Sandefur – Daviess County Public Library; Susan Free Western – Kentucky University Owensboro; Susan Silva – Childrens Advocacy Center of Green River District; Terri Higdon – Brescia University; Tim Clothier – Owensboro Police Department; Tim Kline – Stoll, Keenon, Ogden; Victor Cernius – RWRA
