‘Big E Café’ Opens Saturday

sandwich wrapOWENSBORO, Ky. (2/28/14) — Global Spectrum, the management company of the Owensboro Convention Center, announced today that Big E Café will open Saturday, Mar. 1.

Big E Café is located in the West lobby area of the Owensboro Convention Center, and is sure to be a hit with event goers, visitors and the general public.

The menu will include panini sandwiches, wraps, grab and go snack items as well as coffee and other beverages.

The café was named in honor of the building that once set in its place before the construction of the Convention Center. There is a section of the stage from the old Executive Inn Showroom Lounge, which has been autographed by various artists who performed there, hanging on the wall in the café. Many autographed photos of the lounges past performers will be on display.

“Global Spectrum is excited to introduce Big E Café to the community. While initially envisioned as an event only café, we have had a great deal of interest from patrons on providing daily service. We will evaluate and make any necessary adjustments in the future, but are indeed anxious to gauge the response of our clients,” said Dean Dennis, Global Spectrum’s General Manager of the Owensboro Convention Center.

Due to the community interest in Big E Café, OCC has decided to operate weekly Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The café will also be open during special events to serve event goers and visitors.
