Outdoors with Big Country – Youth Turkey Hunting Season

girl turkeyKENTUCKY (4/4/13) – Here in Kentucky, this past weekend, it was a very exciting time for several young turkey hunters with a lot of passion and interest in the wild outdoors.

Local kids spent the weekend chasing the Wild Turkey Gobbler! For several youth, they were successful in their hunt, and blessed with great weather conditions. The turkey were very vocal over the weekend, gobbling great throughout the morning, and very responsive to turkey calls.

The slideshow below depicts several local youth from throughout the region that had a successful weekend.

We would like to send out a thanks to the parents or guides that made these young folks hunts a success. Keep up the good work, and congratulations to those that harvested a big old Tom. For those that didn’t get their turkey this weekend, don’t give up. Give it all you have and good luck in the upcoming season.

Again, stay safe and make great memories that you will cherish for years to come.
