Central City Man Charged in Madisonville Death

arrest murderWESTERN KENTUCKY (11/13/13) – The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office released an update on the death of Rodney Brent “Bo” Hale who went missing in November 2010.

Earlier this summer, the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office received a call from residents of Continental Drive, who had located human remains in the creek behind their residence.
After the recovery process of the bones, it was determine the human remains were of Rodney Brent “Bo” Hale.

On Aug. 23, the Kentucky Medical Examiner’s office returned a final diagnosis regarding Hale’s death. The cause of death was determined to be consistent with homicide.

The findings of the investigation were presented to the Hopkins County Grand Jury on Nov. 12, the jury then returned an indictment for the arrest of Craig R. Davenport of Central City, Ky., according to Deputy Scott Troutman.

Detectives from the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office, accompanied by members of the Central City Police Department, located and arrested Davenport at his home on Reservoir Avenue. He was lodged in the Muhlenberg Detention Center and then transferred to the Hopkins County Jail.

On Nov. 13, Davenport was charged with manslaughter in the second degree, tampering with physical evidence and being persistent felony offender II.
