arrest reedPADUCAH, Ky. (3/20/13) – On Tuesday, March 19, Detectives with the McCracken County Sheriff’s Department arrested a Calvert City woman on Tuesday afternoon on DUI and drug offenses following a traffic stop in Paducah.

On Tuesday afternoon, at approximately 2:14 PM, Detectives observed a 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix on South 3rd Street near the intersection of Elizabeth Street. The vehicle was stopped for suspicion of DUI. Detectives found the vehicle to be operated by Debra Reed of Calvert City. Detectives determined that Reed was under the influence of controlled substances. Deputy Derek Pugh arrived and performed field sobriety tests on Reed. Reed was arrested for DUI. During the course of the stop detectives searched Reed’s purse and seized a quantity of Methamphetamine, a Methamphetamine smoking pipe, doses of Hydrocodone, Xanax, Diazepam and a plastic baggy of Marijuana. Detectives also seized US currency believed to be proceeds from illegal drug sales.

As the investigation ensued detectives with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department secured a search warrant for Reed’s residence located in Calvert City. The search warrant was executed later in evening by the Marshall and McCracken County Sheriff detectives. Detectives seized additional quantities of Methamphetamine and other items indicative of drug trafficking from the residence.

Reed was lodged in the McCracken County Regional Jail. Additional charges are pending out of Marshall County.
