LEXINGTON, Ky (10/22/13)—This Saturday at Buster’s in Lexington the annual Beaux Arts Fall Ball will be held. What began in the 19th century The Architecture community of the Ecole des Beaux Arts began the tradition and held the first ball. ‘This ball’s theme asked for creativity and imagination beyond the scope of tamed human minds. Such wild and taboo activity opened doors for future generations.’
200 years later the Beaux Arts Ball is entirely planned and organized by the University of Kentucky’s College of Design. The largest non-profit student ran organization in Kentucky showcases art, music and creativity all while raising money for local charities and strengthening the community of Lexington.
You can preorder your ticket to the 2013 Fall Ball for $22 on their website or at the door on Saturday for $25. It begins at 8 p.m. and those who are 18 and older are welcome to come. Artists at this year’s event are PicturePlane, Mike Servito, Kevin Frey, Fleece, and DJ Samples.
