LYON COUNTY, Ky. (4/26/13) – The Kentucky State Police stopped Clifford A. James, 30 of Custer, Washington, driving a 1999 Hyundai Accent traveling east bound on Interstate 24 in Lyon County for careless driving. During the traffic stop, a canine with the Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement, alerted on the vehicle and approximately two pounds of high-grade marijuana was located inside the vehicle along with drug paraphernalia.
James was arrested and charged with Trafficking in Marijuana - more than 8 ounces but less than 5 pounds (class D felony), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (class A misdemeanor) and careless driving.
James was lodged in the Caldwell County Jail.
The investigation continues by Senior Trooper T.J. Williams. Trooper Williams was assisted by Officer Michael Sandbrink and canine officer Boss, along with the Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement.
