Two-Vehicle Accident on Main Street in Cadiz

accidentwinjuries2 300CADIZ, Ky. (5/15/13) – On Tuesday, May 14, 2013, the Cadiz Police Department investigated a two-vehicle crash that occurred in the 2000 block of Main Street.

Once on the scene, officers found that 21-year-old Morgan K. Spann, of Cadiz, was eastbound on Main Street when she attempted a left turn into the Ferrell’s parking lot. Spann pulled into the path of 28-year-old Crystal McCraw, of Gracey, KY, as McCraw was westbound on Main Street.

The impact sent Spann’s vehicle into a 180-degree clockwise turn, causing the vehicle to exit the shoulder, striking a road sign and coming to a final rest against a sign post. Spann was not injured.

A passenger in Spann’s vehicle, 20-year-old Miranda Thacker, of Cadiz, suffered multiple injuries and was removed from the vehicle by mechanical means by the Trigg County Rescue Squad.

McCraw suffered nick and knee injuries. A 3-year-old child in McCraw’s vehicle suffered face and head injuries, but was in a booster seat. Another 3-month-old child in the vehicle was not injured.

All of the injured were transported to Trigg County Hospital. All adults were wearing seat belts.

Trigg County Sheriff's Office and Trigg County Rescue Squad assisted at the scene.

Cadiz Police Major Duncan Wiggins is the investigating officer.
