shoe dept encoreMADISONVILLE, KY (10/29/12)—Madisonville Parkway Plaza Mall is getting a new store. The Shoe Dept. Encore is occupying the space in the mall that the Public library recently moved from. Renovations have been underway in the structure for about a month now and plans to open the department store are tentatively this November 16, says, The Shoe Dept. Encore District Manager, Rich Short, who spoke with SurfKY News today about the opening.

The Shoe Dept. Encore is a chain store out of Concord, NC. It is one of about 1200 Company shoe department stores nationwide owned by The Shoe Show. “The Corporate Office saw an economic opportunity for them in Madisonville and decided to take it,” says Rich, when asked why the store chose the Madisonville location.

The store will open at 10 AM through the week and follow regular mall hours, closing at 9 PM, with the exception of Sunday’s 1 PM-5 PM schedule. District Manager Short says they’re still looking to hire a few more sales associates and a key holder. Those interested in employment there should visit the mall office for inquiries.

The new store will carry branded athletic, work, casual, and dress shoes, handbags, hosiery, and socks.

“We carry branded shoes at value oriented prices,” states Rich, who’s been with the company for three years.

The leasing information is confidential and undisclosed to SurfKY News Group.
