Traffic Light on Main Unable to be Activated

traffic light 300GREENVILLE, Ky. (4/24/13) – Due to a phasing issue, KYTC traffic technicians were unable to fully activate the new traffic signal at the intersection of US 62/Hopkinsville Street and KY 181/South Main Street in Greenville/Muhlenberg County as expected today.

As a result, the new signal at the south edge of downtown Greenville will likely remain in red flashing mode for another week or more with the intersection continuing to function as a 4-way stop.

KYTC engineers will provide timely notice when these issues are resolved and the signal is ready to go into full service.

This intersection is at US 62 mile point 10.398 and KY 181 mile point 11.881. Approximately 15,000 vehicles travel through this intersection in an average day.

Timely traffic advisories for the 11 counties of KYTC Highway District 2 are available by going to www.facebook.com/kytcdistrict2. You do not have to be a Facebook member to access this page.
