Names of Resigned MNMS Coaches Released

muhl co school 300GREENVILLE, Ky. (9/3/13) – Three Muhlenberg North Middle School football coaches have resigned after parents became concerned about the coaches' alleged use of bad language to players after a football game Aug. 27.

According to Muhlenberg County Schools Interim Superintendent Sonny Fentress, Jordan Harbin and Jeremy Sandoval, both of whom had contracts with the school system, resigned. The third coach was a volunteer and was not identified.

"Everyone makes mistakes," said Fentress Thursday. "The coaches used bad language in front of the students and we can't have that around our students."

Fentress said the coaches met with MNMS Principal Steve Sparks Thursday and tendered their resignations from the football program.

Fentress officially accepted the resignations Friday, Aug. 30.

In the interim, coaches from the Muhlenberg County High School Mustangs Football program will be helping MNMS football players in their remaining games, said Fentress.

The MNMS football team was returning from a game against McLean County Middle School when the incident occurred.
