meth-bust-ccCENTRAL CITY, Ky. (6/20/14) — A Central City man and a Central City woman were charged with several drug-related offenses after Kentucky State Police executed a search warrant at 6:41 p.m., Thursday, June 19 at a West Reservoir residence in Central City.

According to a KSP report, Troopers Jon McGehee and Jacob Fortney along with KSP Sgt. Tim Sales, the Muhlenberg County Sheriff's Department and the Central City Police Department discovered marijuana, prescription medication, methamphetamine and items used to distribute controlled substances while executing the search warrant.

Trooper McGehee charged Erica Smith, 26, Central City, with first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first offense/meth; possession of drug paraphernalia, trafficking in marijuana, first offense; illegal possession of a legend drug; third-degree possession of controlled substance; and, prescription controlled substance not in proper container, first offense.

Also charged was Carl Belcher, 48, Central City, for first-degree possession of a controlled substance/meth; trafficking in marijuana, first offense; illegal possession of a legend drug; third-degree possession of a controlled substance; second-degree possession of a controlled substance; prescription controlled substance not in proper container, first offense and failure to notify DOT of address change.

Both were lodged in the Muhlenberg County Jail.

The investigation is continuing.
