Deer Steak Charity Dinner to Raise Funds to Feed Hungry

Hope 2 AllHOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. (4/2/14) — "Want Not Waste Not" and "Hope 2 All" food bank will host a Deer Steak Charity Dinner 5 p.m. Saturday, April 26 at Grapevine Baptist Church.

"Want Not Waste Not" is a deer donation program working in Hopkins and Muhlenberg counties to collect deer from hunters for the food bank. Each deer costs $60 for processing into ground venison.

Last year, the organization collected 91 deer, saving the back strips from the largest deer for the upcoming dinner.

The money raised will go towards the deer processing costs for the 2014 season.

Tickets are $20 each, which include the dinner and door prize entry.

There are only 400 tickets available for the event.

There will be give-a-away for two guns, a bow and about 20 other door prizes.

Tickets can be purchased at Groves County Crafts in Nortonville, Winding Creek Bait Shop in Madisonville, Uncle Lee's in Greenville and Woods Bait Shop and Café in Central City.

"Not only will everyone enjoy a delicious meal and have a chance to win some nice prizes, they will be making a contribution back into our own community to help feed those in need with each ticket purchased,” said project manager Chad Browning.

For more information about the event, call (270) 835-9100 or (270) 635-0544 and 'Like' Want Not Waste Not on Facebook.
