taste muhl 300MUHLENBERG COUNTY, Ky. (4/17/13) – From the taste of old Mexico and Italy, to the hottest new entrees from the area's top restaurants, the 6th Annual Taste of Muhlenberg brings a unique assortment of cuisine from around the World.
 
On April 29th, the Muhlenberg High School West Campus will host the event, sponsored each year by the Rotary club of Muhlenberg County.
 
"It's all to help raise funds for a variety of sources, including the Muhlenberg High School Jazz Band program," said David Richey of First Security Bank. Richey is a key coordinator for the event.
 
"We have moved the event from the Saturday of the Kentucky Derby." Rickey noted. "The vendors have told us that is such a busy day for many restaurants that some said they just couldn’t make it on Derby Day. We are glad to help them out so we are moving the event to the Monday before the derby.”

Last year over 400 people who had the chance to taste menu items from numerous local vendors all for, all for one low price.
 
Dining entertainment will be provided by the MCHS Jazz Band, conducted by Troy Stovall.
 
Vendors will be judged on appearance, taste and presentation.
 
"We already have around 19 restaurants committed," Richey noted. "And that list could very well grow. We even have a number of vendors coming from outside the county, including Hopkins County. We'll have two $500.00 drawings." Richey said.
 
Tickets are just 20 dollars each, ages 6 to adults. Corporate tables include 10 seats for 200.00 The event will run from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm.
