bbbs 300MADISONVILLE, Ky. (10/9/13) – For over 100 years, The Big Brothers Big Sisters of America has been a premier national organization with matching caring mentors with children. The Big Brothers Big Sisters of Madisonville-Hopkins County which serves both Hopkins and Muhlenberg Counties has recently added a new Lunch Buddy Program.
 
“We are a mentoring organization that strives to place positive role models in the lives of children who are facing adversity. We are currently looking for volunteers for our brand new Lunch Buddy Program,” said Holley Osborne, Program Director. “The program consists of volunteers having lunch with a child for a minimum of 2x per month at the child's school. We hope to nurture self-confidence and facilitate positive peer relationships simply by providing students with a mentor/lunch buddy.”
 
The Madisonville- Hopkins County Big Brothers Big Sisters has been providing the community with one –to-one service since 1987. The community and site based mentoring programs were developed to allow qualified volunteers to those children and youth that are at-risk and give them the opportunity to improve their learning skills and self-esteem.
 
“Please consider taking a ‘Little’ of your time to make a ‘Big’ impact,” said Osborne.
