Chamber Hosts Ribbon Cutting for WEHT's New Office in Owensboro

OWENSBORO, Ky. (8/5/13) - WEHT LOCAL and LOCAL 7 WTVW recently opened a new studio and sales office at 208 West Third Street in Owensboro. Station employees, city officials, and members of the Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce gathered on Friday to celebrate the new office with a ribbon cutting and live broadcasts of Eyewitness News.

“For nearly 60-years, our stations have served the TriState communities. We are excited to expand our presence, support and coverage, in Western Kentucky, even more.” said WEHT LOCAL Vice-President and General Manager Arika Zink. “Eyewitness News truly is everywhere you are and we are excited to put new facilities to work for members of this great community,” Zink added.

Eyewitness News Director Bob Freeman further commented, “It’s all about being a part of the community and we’re taking it to another level with a reporter dedicated to covering the news that affects people in Owensboro and western Kentucky.”
 
Eyewitness News offered live broadcasts on Friday during its 4p.m., 5p.m., 6p.m. and 6:30 p.m. newscasts. The station also held a VIP reception in conjunction with the ribbon cutting. The same day, WEHT and SurfKY.com announced a new partnership. You can read more about that announcement here.
