Roger Cleveland receives Equity and Excellence Achievement Award

Fayette Public Schools 03 300LEXINGTON, Ky. (3/26/13) – Roger Cleveland has received the 2013 P.G. Peeples Equity and Excellence Achievement Award, which the Fayette County Equity Council presents to a school, organization or individual who has worked to better Lexington’s school community.

Cleveland is an associate professor in educational leadership at Eastern Kentucky University and head of Millennium Learning Concepts, a consulting group. He accepted the award at the March 25 school board meeting.

Established in 2003, the award was named after Porter G. Peeples in recognition of his tireless service to Fayette County Public Schools. Peeples’ vision and foresight helped establish a community-based monitoring and advisory group that supports equity and diversity in schools to ensure all students achieve success. This group is now known as the Equity Council.
