(3/27/13) – A pair of Winburn Middle School students received college scholarships for their performance in the 2013 state MATHCOUNTS competition, held March 23 in Lexington. The top-10 also included Winburn’s Ben Xie in eighth place and Ronit Kar in ninth.

The top four finishers were awarded full-tuition, four-year scholarships to either the University of Kentucky or the University of Louisville. Cici and David also won an expense-paid trip to the national MATHCOUNTS competition May 9-12 in Washington, D.C.

In the final statewide standings, Winburn came in third out of the 28 teams, and SCAPA at Bluegrass finished seventh.
