Lexington Weekly Traffic Report

lane closures green 300LEXINGTON, Ky. (5/3/13)— SPECIAL NOTES: Traffic could be congested near Rupp Arena on Sunday, May 5, for the University of Kentucky commencement exercises. Motorists should use caution and be aware of pedestrians crossing the streets near the arena.
 
Eastbound traffic on U.S. 60/Versailles Road will be diverted to the south side of the roadway beginning at 8 a.m. Sunday, May 6, so work can be completed in the median. Two lanes of the road are currently open in each direction and will remain open.
 
Traffic could be congested in the downtown area near Fifth-Third Pavilion at Cheapside Park from 7 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, May 4, for the Lexington Farmers’ Market.
 
Traffic could be congested near Fifth-Third Pavilion at Cheapside Park for Central Bank Thursday Night Live, which will be held from 4:30-8 p.m. Thursday, May 9.
 
The Division of Engineering issued grading permits during the period April 12-18 for the following addresses: 249 Shady Lane, 292 Somersly Place, 1950 Falling Leaves Lane, 605 Deltino Court, 3216 Orchard Grass Road, 3220 Orchard Grass Road, 3224 Orchard Grass Road, 3805 Somersly Cove, 256 Ellerslie Park Boulevard, 260 Ellerslie Park Boulevard, 3449 Buckhorn Drive, 3876 Leighton Lane,1846 Falling Leaves Lane, 1850 Falling Leaves Lane and 3762 Hardwood Lane. Permits are issued for six months and can include some blasting.

SIGNIFICANT TRAFFIC IMPACT
Portions of the following streets will be blocked at times from Monday, May 6, through Saturday, May 11, for milling and paving:
• Brooks Avenue
• Coleman Court
• East Third Street between Blackburn Avenue and Jefferson Street
• Fairman Road
• Jaggie Fox Way between Maggard Drive and Capstone Drive
• Kemper Court at Whitney Avenue
• Lindberg Drive between Self Avenue and Brooks Avenue
• McCarty Court between Cox Street and Herlihy Street
• Meadowthorpe Avenue between Pepper Drive and North Forbes Drive
• Mercer Road
• North Forbes Road between Leestown Road and Meadowthorpe Avenue
• Olivia Lane
• Paul Avenue
• Pelican Lane
• Price Avenue
• Rebmann Lane
• Sandersville Road between Greendale Road and Georgetown Road
• Valley Avenue at Willard Street
• Valley Avenue between Willard Street and DeRoode Street
• Waverly Drive between Erie Road and Bamberger Road
 
Left turns will be restricted at the intersection of Euclid Avenue and Rose Street from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Thursday, May 9, for sewer work.
 
One lane of Price Road will be blocked as needed between Florence Avenue and Georgetown Road through Wednesday, May 8, to replace utility poles.
 
The right outbound lane of Winchester Road will be blocked between Dayton Avenue and Liberty Road from Monday, May 6, through Friday, May 10, for utility work.
 
DeRoode Street will be CLOSED between Versailles Road and McKinley Street 24 hours a day through December 31, for work on the Newtown Pike extension project. Motorists can access the neighborhood from Merino Street to McKinley Street to Byars Alley.
 
MODERATE TRAFFIC IMPACT
Alexandria Drive will be CLOSED between Leestown Road and Trailwood Lane on Tuesday, May 7, for a mowing operation. A detour is in place.
 
One lane of Aurora Avenue will be blocked between Memory Lane and Hanover Court through Monday, May 6, for utility work. The street will be open for two-way traffic.
 
Clays Mill Road will be blocked between Cromwell Way and Merrimac Drive through Friday, May 17, for construction work. Inbound traffic will be diverted to the center lane.
 
A section of the intersection of Hollywood Drive at Ashland Terrace will be blocked from Monday, May 6, through Friday, May 10, for sewer work.
 
Lanes of Locust Avenue will be blocked as needed between Oak Hill Drive and Bryan Avenue through Friday, May 31, for utility work.
 
The sidewalk and right outbound lane of North Broadway will be blocked between West Short Street and Church Street on Monday, May 6, to install a sign.
 
One lane at a time of North Limestone Street will be blocked between East Fourth Street and Arceme Avenue from Monday, May 6, through Friday, May 10, for sewer inspection and cleaning.
 
The intersection of North Martin Luther King Boulevard and East Short Street will be blocked from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday, May 6, and Tuesday, May 7, for cable work. Traffic will be maintained in each direction.
 
One lane of Race Street will be blocked at East Fourth Street through Monday, May 6, for utility work.
