Twelve Fayette County Public Schools Deemed ‘Higher Performing Schools’

Fayette Public Schools 03 300LEXINGTON, Ky. (4/25/13)— Twelve schools in FCPS have been designated 2012 National Center for Educational Achievement (NCEA) Higher Performing Schools, which indicates their deep commitment to raising student achievement and putting more youngsters on the path to college and career readiness – regardless of socio-economic barriers or other obstacles.

NCEA found these schools to have consistently outperformed their peers with similar student populations over a three-year period.

Congratulations to:
 Ashland Elementary
 Athens-Chilesburg Elementary
 Beaumont Middle School
 Cassidy Elementary
 Glendover Elementary
 Julius Marks Elementary
 Meadowthorpe Elementary
 Morton Middle School
 Picadome Elementary
 Rosa Parks Elementary
 SCAPA at Bluegrass
 Veterans Park Elementary

“These schools stand out as shining examples of what can be achieved when staff, students and parents work together toward a unified goal of preparing students for life after high school,” Angela Hall Watkins of ACT Inc. said in a letter to the Fayette County Public Schools superintendent.

The National Center for Educational Achievement (NCEA) is now part of ACT Inc.
