“I give Florida credit they did exactly what I was afraid they were going to do going into the game,” UK football head coach Mark Stoops said. “They are a very good football team…very physical football team.”
The loss isn’t changing the way that the Wildcats are preparing for the upcoming games. Practice this week will get them ready to take on the South Carolina Gamecocks on Saturday.
“We are getting better,” offensive coordinator Neal Brown said. “We had two good weeks of practice and I am not discouraged. We knew this was going to be a lengthy process.”
There was frustration throughout the game from the coaches and team members, however Stoops said that the team fought well to stay in the game.
“We are striving to get better and we will continue to fight,” he said. “I’ve been happy with the way that we are preparing, we know we aren’t where we want to be yet, but we are going to keep on trying until we get there.”
The Wildcats will travel to Columbia, South Carolina to take on Gamecocks this Saturday at Williams-Brice Stadium. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
