Ohio County Welcomes New Principal at Fordsville Elementary

principal 300OHIO COUNTY, Ky. (7/10/13) - Dwayne Bishop was hired earlier last month as the new principal at Fordsville Elementary in Ohio County.

Bishop most recently worked as the principal at Cloverport Independent Schools for three years, but has also been Dean of Students at College View Middle School and a Special Education teacher at Apollo High School for 10 years.

Bishop is a graduate of Ohio County High School. He received his undergraduate degree from Brescia University and his Masters degree from Western Kentucky University.

Bishop said his main goal for his new title as principal is to improve the overall school culture.

“Having a positive school culture drives success,” Bishop said. “School leaders should always keep the school culture in mind.”

Bishop is anticipating a good return to school for parents and students this fall.

“I look forward to working with the teachers and students in the community in which I live,” Bishop said.
