KENTUCKY (4/24/13) – Hello again folks. I hope you are having a blessed day. We have encountered all types of weather over the last few days, from being sunny and beautiful to cold and rainy. The great thing about all this weather is that the fish are still biting!
The largest largemouth bass that I have seen this spring came from our good friends at Deer Creek Lodge. The largemouth weighed in at 11 pounds 9 ounces. Deer Creek Lodge is located just west of Sebree, KY on Highway 138. They offer any type of outdoor activity, such as fishing, waterfowl hunting, turkey hunting, deer hunting and a variety of bird hunting. You can find them on Facebook or on the general web.
A good friend of mine, Mike Copley, is great friends with the owner and has helped guide a few hunts there himself. I actually wasn’t aware of their fishing trips they offer until this year. I have been informed that they have a couple of different fishing locations to choose from, each with watershed, holding nice bass.
Another great location to fish that a lot of folks overlook is the Madisonville City Park Twin Lakes. They offer a wide variety of fish. They are even stocked with trout each year. Some of the trout caught there have measured up to 15 inches in length.
So go on out, take a kid fishing and make their dreams come true by landing a really nice trophy fish.
Until next time, God bless and be safe!
