Whitfield Statement on Veterans Day

whitfield ed c 300HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. – U.S. Rep. Ed Whitfield (KY-01), today released the following statement regarding Veterans Day, November 11.

“On this Veterans Day, I offer my deepest appreciation to the 23.2 million military Veterans currently living in our great country for all they have done to protect our freedom. I also gratefully reflect on those Veterans who are no longer living, or who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the field of battle, who have protected our people for over two centuries.

“In the First Congressional District, we are privileged to have a special relationship with the numerous Veterans who were stationed at Ft. Campbell, including the 101st Airborne Division who have served in defense of our nation in every conflict since the Second World War. We are also pleased to be the home of the 160th Special Operation Aviation Regiment (Airborne) and the 5th Special Forces Group.

“We must all remember that we remain a global beacon of freedom thanks to the brave soldiers who have ever put on an American military uniform, and we cannot thank them enough.”
