Vehicle Rollover Sends One to Area Hospital

rollover accident 300PADUCAH, Ky. (4/22/13) – At 6:03 a.m., on April 20, 2013, emergency crews were dispatched to a single vehicle roll over collision on US62/Blandville road between Childress road and Fisher road.
 
It was determined that as 20-year-old Shawn Pace of Paducah was traveling eastbound on US62/Blandville road. Pace fell asleep while driving. He stated that he woke up once the car had left the road.
 
Pace left the roadway on the right side of the road, struck an earth embankment and overturned approximately two times before coming to rest on the driver’s side in the ditch.
 
Pace freed himself from the wreckage by climbing out the front passenger window. Pace was transported by Mercy Regional ambulance to Baptist Health for treatment of apparent non-life threatening injuries.
 
Also assisting on scene was the Concord Fire Department. Pace was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision. The roadway was closed for approximately one hour for the investigation and cleanup of the scene.
